Royal Roads University - Westshore Campus

2025

We were proud to contribute to the Royal Roads University West Shore Campus, a landmark project delivered in collaboration with Durwest Construction, whose team did an excellent job maintaining organization and schedule throughout. This approximately 95,000 square foot mass timber facility spans five floors and brings together a range of thoughtfully designed spaces. The campus includes an Indigenous centre, student commons, and well-appointed amenities such as fitness and shower facilities, all designed to support a modern and inclusive learning environment.

West Isle Industries provided the full scope of architectural millwork across the project. Our work included bathroom millwork with integrated solid surface sinks, as well as millwork throughout classrooms, kitchen areas including solid surface countertops, benches, breakout rooms, and shared common spaces. The project demanded a high level of coordination and consistency across a wide variety of applications, all delivered to meet the durability and performance requirements of a high-traffic institutional setting.

Located in downtown Langford, the campus represents a first-of-its-kind partnership between Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, and the Justice Institute of British Columbia, with additional programming space for School District 62 (Sooke). It stands as a strong example of collaborative infrastructure supporting education and community growth on Vancouver Island.
